one of my favorite photos from a fashion magazine i found shortly after being evacuated by hurricane Katrina. prompted by anne-san12, i decided that i would attempt portraits again. i'm pretty satisfied with the results. admittedly, i see flaws (MANY MANY). i don't know if i'm motivated enough to fix them, but again, i say i'm satisfied with the results.

Roversi, Paolo. Women Times Seven. "Paulette, who plans her next romance during her husband's funeral procession." New York Times Style Magazine Fall 2005: 254.
That looks great Izzy!!! See, told ya you could do it I love how you did the mouth and the nose. The shading is very well done The only thing I can see that may need fixing is the hair. I suggest that you put a bit more detail, along with the other side of the face. Other than that I can't really see anything that needs improvement.

i completely understand about the hair. the scanner may have taken away some of the darkness, but i don't think i made it dark enough in the first place.
in the picture you can't differentiate between her hair and the background, and so i was making things up as i went. if i do go back to edit anything it will be to darken up the hair and part of her left eye.
also i don't like the way her chin came out. among other things. but like i said several times, i like the way this came out overall. it was a lot better than i expected.
thanks for the encouragement and suggestions

I saw Victoria today and told her that I helped convince you to draw a portrait and I don't think she believed me She just kinda looked at me like I was crazy.

Nearly all of us, if not every single one of us, have come across a deviation that just has a disappointing '...'. Conversely, some of us have even come across a massive wall of text.
Whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "Is that it?", or whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "What can I say?", this guide will hopefully provide you with some insight in how to go about writing a good description for your deviations, a.k.a. your Artist's (or Author's) Comments.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
