Bea, second attempt. I'm only uploading this to give Emily an idea.

I'm working on digital media... and I don't think I care for it as much as traditional. :/

there's just something about real pencils that i just... can't quite replace. i like to feel exactly what i'm working with.

I understand what you mean. Digital media can look more clean cut I guess, but it can't replace the way it feels to draw with pencils and paper.

i think jpg killed it :/ the original file is in .xcf but i wasn't sure that deviantart supported a file like that.

i'd choose real media over digital almost any day. the exception being for writing, post brain-storm session.

i just wanted to try it out and see (again, as i ritually forget that i don't care for digital media)... but don't count on too many updates of this nature. :( thanks for the comment, however. i do appreciate it! :)

Yeah, when it comes to writing, typing is so much easier!

It just takes practice ;p It really helps getting lineart from here and coloring it to practice shading and technique. I've done that once or twice.

haha, yeah... but i don't really need practice when it comes to shading. i need practice when it comes to backgrounds... which i loathe doing... and also with lineart directly onto the computer, which i also loathe doing.

i really don't like drawing with my tablet. i don't mind painting and i don't mind mussing things, but when it comes to actual drawing... i just prefer my real graphite. i've been trying to work on settings to give it more of a pressure sensitivity and so on, but i dunno. :/

the problems I have are backgrounds and making everything look clean-cut (if that makes any sense). I can never make the lineart look very good ^^;

I don't mind working with my tablet, i just need a better program other than Photoshop Elements :P

ah, i hear ya. i have GIMP, which is pretty un-user friendly. but i think its a fantastic program. it allows me to basically work with everything from scratch. my one problem with it would be that its digital and therefore doesn't grant me the sort of control (thickness/hardness/etc) that i have over my real pencils and such. i really don't like constantly changing "brushes."

i just don't like backgrounds because i need references---AND HEAVEN FORBID I NEED REFERENCES (honestly, i usually hate myself if i have to use a reference... or i don't consider it MY work if i use any sort of reference o_O odd, ne?) ---- AND i have to use rulers and such to keep lines straight, another thing i don't like doing. :S i'm so weird.

I feel like that too sometimes, but I hate it when I have to use one of those books that teaches you how to draw or paint something. I feel like such a cheater!
